My Commercial Work
In order to be a documentary filmmaker, I also run a commercial filmmaking business, working with a variety of clients to provide them with high quality promotional videos.
That said, over the last decade, most of my commercial work has been in the area of Fintech, literally 'financial technology' but in reality a portmanteau term for any tech that’s used to augment, streamline, digitize or disrupt traditional financial services.
The term encompasses software, algorithms and applications for both computer- and mobile-based tools. In some cases, it includes hardware, too—like smart, connected piggy banks or virtual reality (VR) trading platforms.
This work has given me enormous insight into the changing world of global finance in which Fintech platforms enable run-of-the-mill banking tasks as well as more intricate concepts like peer-to-peer lending or crypto exchanges.
For that reason, I have become committed to this growing sector, interviewing the leading lights of the financial world; filming leading Fintech events like Cybos, Euro Banking Association Day and Money 2020.
I handle all aspects of production -- filming, directing and editing. At Fintech Week in London in July 2021, JKS Pictures co-ordinated the livestream going out to thousands of people across the world.
I am also a licensed drone operator. and have the state-of-the-art, latest camera drones. Check out the breathtaking views of my native Wales in the video below. Drone footage can add a real element of professionalism and drama to any presentation -- as it can swoop majestically or hover still to focus on a single element -- whether it is a corporate promo; a wedding day video momento; or a scene-setting moment colouring a personal portrait.
My other clients include Radnor Hills Water, William Evans, Gunsmiths, Turkish Airlines and BBG Real Estate.
